Pharmacy First lets a pharmacist assess and, where appropriate, treat seven common conditions on the NHS, without you needing to see a GP first.
Assessed by a pharmacist
A private consultation room, a proper clinical assessment, and a clear explanation of what we find.
Treatment where suitable
If treatment is appropriate under the NHS pathway, we can supply it during your visit.
Referral if needed
If your symptoms fall outside the service, we will refer you on to the right place.

Sinusitis
12 years and over
Sore throat
5 years and over
Earache
1 to 17 years
Infected insect bite
1 year and over
Impetigo
1 year and over
Shingles
18 years and over
Uncomplicated urinary tract infection
Women 16 to 64 years
Good to know
- The service is free on the NHS for eligible patients.
- No appointment is needed, walk in and ask at the counter.
- You can be referred to us by NHS 111 or your GP practice.
- Bring a list of any medication you take regularly.
Children and young people
Several of the conditions covered apply to children. A parent or guardian should be present for the consultation. If a child is very unwell, contact your GP or NHS 111 instead.
